"It's the 2-4:30 shift. We're volunteering to pour beer at the Food and Wine Fest," Phil said. I'm always up for mingling in festive crowds and if food and wine pairings are involved, it is sure to be fun. The day was beautiful. Blue skies, even temperatures, and soft clouds. A perfect Texas fall day. We started off early, but by the time we waded through the crowds, we barely had time Continue Reading
Food Truck Fest
Fifteen food trucks, fourteen wineries, and plenty of music--oh my! The Fifth Annual Hill Country Food Truck Festival took place on Saturday, June 23rd, in Luckenbach. Proceeds benefitted the proposed Texas Center for Wine and Culinary Arts. While it can be hot in the kitchen, it was even hotter that day, but plenty of people showed up to show their love for the culinary arts and music. Also Continue Reading
BBQ in Texas Hill Country
Sunday of Memorial Day Weekend was another beautiful day in Texas Hill Country. About this time of year, things are really hopping in the country. We decided to head over to Pecan Grove Store for their BBQ and picker's circle. There is such an incredible nostalgia to Pecan Grove so a BBQ was perfect. The beer counter is Continue Reading

And that is unusual for this time of year, but it did not stop me from going to Trade Days. So I filled a water bottle and headed out to find treasure. The crowds are lighter on Fridays. Saturday and Sunday are usually hopping which Continue Reading
Lavender Adventures
Lavender evokes a million emotions. It is not just the senses of sight, smell, touch, and taste. Once you have experienced a warm day, the scent of blooming lavender floating on a soft breeze, and the gentle buzzzz of bees in their gathering, there is no forgetting its intimacy--the way it touches something at your very core. It is with that in mind that I headed over to the Lavender Continue Reading
